Intercultural / interreligious dialogue can foster unity by crossing barriers of diversity. In interreligious dialogue it appears that the issue of religious freedom is one of the most difficult topics, as COMECE experienced from the Christian-Muslim dialogue seminar organised at the European Parliament on 11th September 2008. This has increased the impetus COMECE wants to give to the promotion of such a fundamental liberty both within and outside the EU. A specific location to it can be found in the specific section dedicated to the policy area “Religious freedom”
